Furniture Donation/ Non-Profits
Pear Project Services donates many thousands of dollars worth of good, reusable office furniture, office supplies, and small office equipment to not-for-profit end users, recyclers, refurbishers, and other social enterprise partners each year.
Most of our donated product is in very good-excellent condition but may not be up to the aesthetic standards of current “trends” in workspace design. Because warehouse space in the Denver-Boulder area is extremely expensive and our ability to take in product is space-limited, it makes good sense for us to donate items that may be less “on-trend” or in less desirable colors and styles to organizations that need good used furniture.
As we see it, this creates a multiple “win-win” situation for all concerned. Since most of our inventory comes from our decommissioning project work, it’s a four-way win. The company that is donating their excess furniture wins by getting a tax deduction (unless the furniture has been fully depreciated), the satisfaction of knowing that they are donating to an organization that needs good used furniture, as well as the “green” benefit of keeping reusable items out of a landfill. The recipient wins by getting great furniture that they will enjoy and appreciate at very low or no cost. The planet wins because there is significantly less landfill build-up. And the team at Pear Project Services wins because we get to keep working at what we love, sharing the wealth, and doing good things for the greater community while covering our expenses!
